ELLA BERRY

Program Manager

In her role at CMAA, she coordinates curriculum and provides instruction for all middle schoolers attending CMAA’s  Diverse Young Leaders After School and Summer Camp programming. Additionally, Ella oversees the Penny Severns Family Literacy Program, which partners with New Field Elementary School and Rogers Park Library to bring literacy-based learning to low-income immigrant and refugee families. Ella also acts as the assistant teacher for the program’s English as a Second Language (ESL) class.

Ella is a trained Restorative Justice circle keeper, has a BFA in Contemporary Dance and a BA in International Studies from Indiana University, and speaks Spanish. She believes that creating a safe and welcoming space for the families she serves is key to both personal and community growth. Ella’s favorite thing about working at CMAA is sharing moments of laughter with the children she serves.

Ella Berry also serves as the Youth Department Manager at Chinese Mutual Aid Association, where Tiger Tutor is based. For more information on Chinese Mutual Aid Association, click here.
