SHANZANA (ZANA) RASHID

Northwestern University

Class of 2021

Shanzana (Zana) Rashid is a senior at Northwestern University double-majoring in Communication Studies & Sociology with a minor in Gender & Sexuality Studies. Originally from the Bronx, NY, she attended The Bronx High School of Science after successfully taking the city-wide Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT).

 

She previously served as an advanced instructor for NYC's Khan's Tutorial and tutored a range of low-income students from elementary to high school to prepare them for various standardized tests and the college admission process. At Northwestern, Zana takes on leadership roles for the university's Panhellenic Association council as Vice President Public Relations and Model United Nations as Director of Outreach. She is also the Project Manager and Graphic Design Team Supervisor at Northwestern Student Affairs Marketing and moderates regular Sustained Dialogue sessions on campus as a trained facilitator.

 

Outside of classes and work, you can find Zana playing around with various forms of media and exploring different cultures through restaurants and museums!
